Support continues to grow for this year’s National Learning Disabilities & Autism Show & Awards. The pre-awards Show and evening Awards are being organised by Care Talk Magazine and will take place on 15th July 2016 at Birmingham’s ICC.

The awards have once again been well received by the sector and are formally supported by The Voluntary Organisations Disability Group (VODG), Mencap, Care England and The National Autistic Society. The purpose of the awards is to pay tribute to individuals or organisations who specifically support people with learning disabilities and autism and celebrate excellence in this sector. Categories range from support worker, employer, managers, trainers through to positive behaviour support and best employer of people with a disability.

Nominations are being invited from across the social care sector; including private, statutory and voluntary organisations. Shortlisted finalists will be invited to attend a judging day and the winner will be announced at the gala dinner.

What the sector says

“Care England is pleased to be supporting the LD & Autism Awards, which acknowledge and champion the amazing work done each day in the care sector to support people living with Learning disabilities and Autism. The people nominated for these awards, represent the care sector at its very best, and they enable people to live rich and fulfilling lives”
Professor Martin Green, Chief Executive, Care England

“The Voluntary Organisations Disability Group is delighted to support the National Learning Disabilities & Autism Awards 2016. Many of the best-known organisations supporting people with learning disabilities and autism are VODG members who deliver responsive, high-quality and person-centred services everyday. Given the pressures facing disability organisations it is all the more important to recognise and celebrate excellence and hold it up as an example for others to learn from and aspire to.”
Dr Rhidian Hughes, Chief Executive, Voluntary Organisations Disability Group

“Mencap are delighted to have been invited to be part of The National Learning Disabilities Awards and show our support for this unique celebratory event. We work with people with a learning disability everyday to achieve the things that matter to them, so we understand the importance of recognising and celebrating achievement and excellence.
